Dr Alan O’Grady is a senior interventional and diagnostic radiologist with extensive training and a deep passion for improving patient care through advanced radiological techniques. He completed undergraduate medical training at University College Dublin in 2007 before pursuing radiology training at Wellington and Auckland City Hospitals, becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology in 2016. Having completed advanced training in Interventional radiology and MRI at Auckland City Hospital, he then underwent formal interventional radiology and MRI fellowship training at Westmead Hospital, developing a specialized skill set in complex diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr O’Grady has a particular focus on women’s health, vein health, pain management, and locoregional oncology treatments. With extensive experience in the management of cancer through minimally invasive techniques, he is dedicated to offering cutting-edge treatments that improve patient outcomes and enhance quality of life.
As an expert in these areas, he is an active member of multiple tumour boards and currently holds appointments at multiple tertiary and quaternary public and private hospitals across New South Wales, contributing to a broad spectrum of interventional radiology services.
Dr O’Grady is a keen advocate of the democratisation of medical information and is passionate about empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health. Through his work, he aims to ensure access to innovative and compassionate care for a diverse patient population, while maintaining a strong focus on the latest advancements in medical technology and patient-centred care.
